Who We are

Eldoret High School ranks among the top 10 percent of high schools in the state and offers students a comprehensive standard 1-8 education. . Most recently, Uasin Gishu Telegram News & World Report named it among the nation's best high schools in 2021. Newsweek named Eldoret High School as a Top STEM High School, and Niche ranked District 1 as the best district in Uasin Gishu County. The school offers students several opportunities in performing and fine arts. The school's musicals and Fall Follies sell out annually and are received warmly by the community. The High School opened in 1999, and serves students from all over the country as it is national school.

Library Services
Eldoret High School's core mandate is to strengthen and enhance the teaching, research and service of the high school. Our main duty is to promote intellectual growth and creativity by developing collections, facilitating access to information resources, teaching the effective use of information resources and critical evaluation skills and offering innovative research assistance.The high school's vision is to engage in learning and discovery as essential participants in the educational community. We develop, organize, provide access to and preserve materials that meet the needs of present and future generations of students and scholars. We explore and implement innovative technologies and services to deliver information and scholarly resources conveniently to users anytime/anyplace. We also provide well-equipped and functional physical spaces where students can pursue independent learning and discovery outside the classroom. The Eldoret High School Library support scholarly research productivity and foster their development.

Library’s basic tasks
The library enables on its part the high standard of teaching and research at the University Eldoret by producing the information services required by the university; effectively and in a high-quality manner.The library promotes research, teaching and learning by engaging in cooperation with other University libraries in selecting information resources, negotiating cost-effective agreements, acquiring resources, and acquainting users with the effective utilization of information resources.We generate high-quality services for the present and anticipatory requirements of research, learning and teaching. The needs of clients are the starting point in all service operations as well as in the development of services. The library’s services as provided are versatile, modern and easily accessible, in addition to accommodating the requirements of various user groups. Services are developed proactively together with researchers, teachers, students and other clients. In cooperation, various channels for dialogue are utilized in a flexible manner: e.g. through resource mobilization, library cooperation or project-based partnership groups and other contacts.The library continuously monitors and anticipates changes in the operational environment and reacts to them quickly by developing new services for the changing needs of the clientele. Through its services, the library promotes the operations of all the university’s goal of being a premier university that is globally visible in knowledge generation technological innovation mission. While achieving her mission of providing quality education in teaching, science, Agriculture and Technology that promotes partnership and cooperation across the globe.
